Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Fern. By using the service you agree to them, so please read them.
1. About Fern
Fern is a study tool operated by LOOPLABS TECHNOLOGIES INC. (“LoopLabs,” “we,” “us”). It takes a topic, your notes, and the time you have, and generates study material such as summaries, flashcards, and quizzes.
2. Eligibility & your account
You must be able to form a binding contract to use Fern. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under it.
3. Price
Fern is currently free to use. We do not process payments and do not collect billing information. We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, we will make the terms and pricing clear before you are charged, and no charge will be made without your consent.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Fern — including uploading unlawful content, infringing others’ rights, attempting to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or using it to generate harmful or deceptive material.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the notes and files you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the service to you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload what you submit.
6. AI-generated material
Fern uses automated systems to generate study material. While we aim for accuracy and ground output in the sources you provide, generated content may contain errors and should not be relied on as professional, medical, legal, or academic advice. Always verify important facts.
7. Our intellectual property
The Fern name, brand, software, and design are owned by LoopLabs and protected by law. These terms do not grant you any rights to them beyond using the service as intended.
8. Third-party services
Fern relies on third-party providers, including Google Analytics for usage measurement. Your use of the site is also subject to those providers’ terms. See our Privacy Policy for how analytics data is handled.
9. Disclaimers
Fern is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LoopLabs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Because Fern is currently offered free of charge, our total liability to you is limited accordingly.
11. Termination
You may stop using Fern at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the service.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
13. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Fern after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
